Restorative Care

The job duties of a Restorative Aide is to maintain and/or improve the Resident’s functional mobility.

Programs are set up with the help of the Nurses, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech Therapists. Programs include ambulation, range of motion, motor coordination, and assistance with activities of daily living, and speech or swallowing exercises.

Resident’s work from 1 to 5 days a week on individual programs. Some Resident’s work to maintain what mobility they have at the present time. Others have finished with Therapies, and then continue to work with the Restorative Aides until the time when they can go home, or move to a more independent level of care.

Our goal is to keep our Resident’s as active as possible, so they may enjoy life at Wesley Acres.

Restorative Care
"Restorative Care is an active and integral part of the total care provided Wesley residents. It is essential to maintaining and improving residents' mobility, strength and funtion. "
